Why Yoga Supports the Midlife Transition

Midlife is a profound shift in energy, identity and inner rhythm - a time when the body asks for slower movement, deeper rest and more intentional connection.

Yoga supports this transition by inviting you to pause, breathe and listen inward. As life becomes fuller and the nervous system more sensitive, yoga offers a gentle way to regulate stress, improve mobility and strength, support joint health and steady emotional fluctuations.

Through slow, mindful movement and breathwork, yoga helps you reconnect to your body’s wisdom, honor its changing needs and cultivate resilience from the inside out. It creates space to move at a sustainable pace, to soften where you’ve been holding and to navigate midlife with greater clarity, grounding and self-compassion.

  • Restorative Yoga: Deep Rest for the Body. Deep Calm for the Nervous System.

    Monday 10-11:30 a.m.

    Wednesday 6:30-8:00 p.m.

    A gentle 90-min class for deep rest & nervous system support. Begin with slow movement & breath, then settle into fully supported poses held for several minutes.

    Helps ease stress, tension & fatigue while supporting sleep and wellbeing. All levels welcome.  

  • Menopause Yoga: A Supportive Practice for Navigating the Changes of Life.

     Wednesdays @ 6:30-8:00 pm

    A gentle 90-min class to support the physical & emotional changes of menopause. Includes breathwork, mindful movement & light strength to build resilience, mobility & stability.

    Ends with 30 mins of restorative poses for deep rest & nervous system support. This is a calm, supportive space to reconnect with your body.

  • Gentle Yoga: Embodied Movement that Invites in Calm & Peace

    Thursdays @ 10:15-11:15 a.m.

    A slow, supportive practice designed to help you move with ease, release tension and reconnect with your breath. This class focuses on simple, accessible movements, mindful stretching and relaxation to support flexibility, balance and overall well-being. Poses are practiced at a comfortable pace with options and props to help you feel stable and supported.

  • Restorative Yoga & Journaling Circle: Rest, Reflection & Connection for the Whole Person Well-Being

    1st Friday of each month.


    A 90-min class for deep rest & nervous system support. Begin with breathwork, then settle into fully supported poses.

    Guided journaling between poses + optional sharing circle.  A gentle space for stress relief & connection.

  • VIBE (Vibration, Intuition, Belonging & Energy)

    A ministry of UUCB designed to offer a holistic, spiritually grounded space for the wellness community.  Our mission is to cultivate unity, well-being, and meaningful connections that support personal and communal transformation.  This is a place where participants can bring their authentic selves, share their unique gifts and experience support for their personal and spiritual grown.  Through monthly gatherings and an annual wellness fair, VIBE provides a rhythm of connection, exploration and community empowerment.
